Katie Darby raises the roof for Hope House Children's Hospices
Thursday 29 October 2009
During the last academic year dozens of local schools and nurseries supported our Raise the Roof competition to design our 2010 Home Collection box, while raising much needed funds for Hope House in Shropshire and Ty Gobaith in North Wales.
The entries were fantastic and Katie Derby from Llandrindod Wells Primary School pictured with Angela Rogers - Fundraiser for Powys was our well deserved winner. Her stunning creation will be going into production shortly and will be included in our next newsletter in March.
We are now launching a new round of the competition for the 2009/10 academic year to design our 2011 Home Collection Box and we are delighted to invite primary and Junior schools or nurseries to get involved.
Taking part is simple – Schools choose the dates to launch and select three entries to submit.
We will supply cardboard money box templates that pupils can use their imaginations to decorate, before building into a simple house shape that they take home for friends and family to fill with coins. When the children have brought their boxes back into school, the school chooses a winning design from each of four age groups to send to us for the final judging:
Early Years/Reception - Years 1 & 2 - Years 3 & 4 - Years 5 & 6
To take part, simply contact the fundraising office for a pack.
Congratulations also go to the Runners Up from our 2008/09 competition who all receive a certificate and trophy
