About Us
Hope House Childrens Hospices is a registered charity. We run two hospices Hope House in Oswestry, Shropshire and Ty Gobaith, in Conwy, North Wales. Our service costs 4 million a year and we rely almost entirely upon donations to continue our work. Hope House opened in October 1995 followed, in 2004, by Ty Gobaith. We are currently caring for more than 320 terminally ill children and their families.

Philosophy of Care – Hope House Children’s Hospices
Hope House Children’s Hospices provide care and support to life limited children, young people and their families. A range of services is offered. These include respite and terminal care at the hospice and/or within the family home, and support such as counselling, advocacy and the promotion of children, young people’s and carers’ rights. Bereavement support is offered to all children, young people, family members and others involved with the family. This is according to the family’s wishes and continues for as long as needed. Bereavement support and counselling is also offered to families in the wider community who have lost a child through sudden illness or trauma. This support can also be given to children and young people who have experienced a death of someone close in traumatic circumstances.
At the hospices children, young people and family members will be welcomed into a friendly, homely environment, with the child and young person at the centre. The support offered includes physical, psychological and spiritual care from a team including experienced doctors, nurses and other care professionals. The service offered is informal, but always professional. It is supported by the essential work of the catering, maintenance, housekeeping, business and administrative staff. A hospice fundraising team, along with our shops and many volunteers, ensures consistent and high quality support can be maintained.
