Ho ho ho - 1500 tired, but happy, Santas!

Fifteen hundred Santas braved the wintry weather to complete our two Santa Fun Runs in Oswestry and Llandudno. One thousand runners pounded the streets of Oswestry to take part in the two mile race and the mini Rudolph children's run, while conditions on Llandudno's wind swept promenade failed to dampen the Christmas spirit of the 500 Welsh participants.

Race organisers hope to beat last year's amazing £50,000 total. The money raised is the perfect Christmas gift for the hundreds of terminally ill children who visit Hope House and Ty Gobaith. A huge thank you to all who took part!

Hope House held their first Santa Fun Run in Oswestry last year, when 1,000 Santas from all over the country raised more than £50,000 to help fund the vital care and support the hospice gives to the hundreds of local families who have a child with a terminal illness.

Explained Appeals Co-ordinator Vanessa Lloyd: “This year we hope to have raised in excess of £50,000 for Hope House and Ty Gobaith. It was a great day - thanks to everyone who took part - and we'll see you next year!'

World Champion gymnast Beth Tweddle and Ellie Ashley, a regular visitor to Hope House, started the race in 2006. Ellie later completed the children's race - well done Ellie!
