Early Christmas present for Ken Richards
Wednesday 03 February 2010
A raffle for an exclusive piece of jewellery has netted Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice more than £18,000 and resulted in an early Christmas present for Ken Richards of St Asaph.
The 18 carat white gold three dimensional snowflake set with 36 diamonds was designed especially for the hospice by jeweller Ken Kapal of KMK Fine Jewellery of Oswestry and the chain was kindly donated by Curteis Chains of Ellesmere.
More than 17,500 £1 raffle tickets were sold across the region, and the winning ticket was chosen by a pantomime character at the Hope House Snowman Shuffle Fun Run on December 6th.
The winning ticket belonged to Mr Richards, whose grandson Ewan Richards visits Ty Gobaith for respite care.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ken for producing this wonderful snowflake and to everybody who bought a ticket, enabling Hope House to continue to help terminally ill children and their families.
Replicas of the necklace can be bought directly from www.kmkfinejewellery.co.uk with a percentage of the sale coming directly to Hope House Children's Hospices.
