Wellington Shop Opens
Monday 04 August 2008
The latest Hope House shop opened on 31st July, the new shop at 3 Crown Street in Wellington will be managed by Georgina Bowdler and assistant manager Linda Edwards, and staffed by local volunteers.
The opening was a flamboyant affair, with Town Crier Percy Simmons proclaiming the occasion all around Wellington before The Mayor, Councilor Tomlinson performed the official opening. The Chocolate Shack also joined in the celebrations by handing out samples of their wonderful handmade chocolates and humbugs.
“It is great to have a shop open in an area which has many families who use the services of the hospice and we were delighted that local families joined us on the day”, said shop manager Georgina Bowdler.
“We are also looking for volunteers to help staff the shop, so if anyone can regularly spare a couple of hours and would like to help, please pop in and see me for a coffee and chat”. The shop can also be contacted on 01952 254312, donations of stock are very welcome, although unfortunately we are unable to take large items of furniture or electrical items.
