New challenges, new people and new experiences are the reasons that Bev Ainsworth first volunteered at our Shrewsbury charity shop, in Harlescott.

Bev, aged 39, has volunteered at her local Hope House shop for two years and says she loves it, and would recommend the role to everyone.

The Shrewsbury mum of three works at the shop on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Her favourite jobs are on the till and sorting clothes.

“I like working here, as it’s varied. I can do a bit of everything. I have a laugh with other staff and customers, and there’s something different every day.

"I've enjoyed being involved in creating window displays, and really like working in such a spacious and bright shop.

"The team have been supportive and flexible around a recent operation, and really welcoming now that I’m fit again. My skills and my confidence have grown, and it’s a really good experience. There are always good bargains to be had for me and my daughters!”
