The hospice is run along similar lines to its sister hospice, Hope House, but is sensitive to the needs of the local population, many of whom speak Welsh as a first language.
Tŷ Gobaith is a beautiful 'home from home' with stunning views across the estuary. The site was chosen for the peace and tranquillity it affords the children and families who visit.
We have four children's bedrooms and three parents/family rooms with the flexibility of using one as a fifth child's bedroom in an emergency. Each child's bedroom has access to an adjoining bathroom with specialist equipment, including ceiling hoists. There is a multi-sensory room, computer room, lounge, playroom, therapy room, kitchen and dining room and a parents' lounge. Our special bereavement bedroom has a private garden for use by newly-bereaved families.
A favourite space though, is the large terrace which can be accessed from all the communal rooms and children's bedrooms. The views are far-reaching out over the landscaped gardens and playground, which have full wheelchair access.
A privately-located counselling room is situated close to the hospice.
Families may choose to access a similar service at Hope House, our hospice in Oswestry.
Tŷ Gobaith opened in 2004 and provides care and support to children and their families living in the North Wales area.
"I can't imagine a more beautiful place to come to terms with the worst possible news - It gives us chance to breathe and to be an ordinary family with our other children"
