So far, the Dragons' Lair initiative has been a roaring success and we would like to say a huge thank you to all the schools who have signed up, local businesses whose employees have helped out on the Dragons' panel's and of course, to all the superb students who took part and produced brilliant pitches and innovative fundraising ideas - well done!

Here's some feedback and comments from schools and Dragons' about talking part in the Dragons' Lair Challenge:

Students at Hawarden High School pitching to the Dragons'

Shaun Parker – Parent Governor  (Dragon at Hawarden High School)

“I believe this activity will give the children some great exposure to a number of key day to day life skills such as money management, communication, negotiation, acceptance & compromise. Additionally the fact the children had to investigate options, display findings and present to a panel, allows for daily life skills exposure that will set them up well for when they progress onto further education or undertake employment.

Key to this whole exercise is the exposure they gain to charity and having to think about others and what they can do and how to help charity and those less fortunate.

I thoroughly enjoyed my involvement and thought the children did a fantastic job, I applaud you, Hope House and Hawarden High School for being so actively involved and allowing the children the opportunity.”

Sean McDermott – Welshpool High School Welsh BACC Co-ordinator

“Hope House have provided a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to not only satisfy the criteria for a robust Enterprise & Employability Challenge but also to raise money for a very worthy cause and to really get their teeth into an entrepreneurial experience. I have been absolutely delighted at how the teams have responded to the task and have been impressed with how they handled the daunting event that is 'The Pitch' to the Dragons. I am absolutely certain that everyone taking part will have progressed as an individual by the end of the challenge.”
