Volunteer Lead Gardener

Hope House is looking for a motivated volunteer who enjoys gardening to lead a small team of volunteer gardeners help maintain our gardens at the hospice in Morda, near Oswestry. 

What will you be doing? 
Leading a small team with general light gardening tasks; such as weeding, pruning and maintaining flower beds, and keeping the garden tidy. Grass cutting and strimming is undertaken by contractors.

When will you be needed? 
Ideally, 4 hours per week, flexible during the week or at the weekend working with your team of gardeners.

What skills/experience are needed? 
General gardening knowledge; physically fit (carry light loads); reliability, enthusiasm and good team spirit. Experience of supervising people would be helpful.


What will you gain from the role? 
An opportunity to create and maintain lovely gardens for the enjoyment of children and families visiting Hope House, a chance to develop and learn gardening skills, and the opportunity to meet new people and to work as part of a team with a variety of people.

What support will you be given? 
Induction, supervision and help from your manager, lunch on site, opportunity for training.
