Applying For A Job

If you apply for a job at Hope House Children's Hospices you can download an application pack from our website. The application form is in an editable PDF version which should be compatible with most devices with Adobe Reader installed (Adobe Reader can be downloaded for free if you don’t currently have it installed). Alternatively, we can email you an application pack or, if you do not have access to email, we can post the pack to your home address. Please complete the application form accurately and clearly. We do not accept CVs in place of a completed application form, but you can submit your CV for additional information, if you wish.

When completing your application form, please consider the following:

  • Applications may be typed or handwritten but please use black ink and ensure your writing is legible.
  • Complete the employment history section starting with your most recent employer first and explain any lengthy gaps in employment.
  • Relate your skills, experience and personal qualities to the requirements set out in the job description and person specification to demonstrate how you meet our criteria, with examples if possible.
  • If you have been out of work for a number of years please include details of any relevant skills you may have acquired from other areas such as community or voluntary work, school or college activities or running your home.
  • Supply the names and addresses of two referees. We do not contact referees until you have been offered the job.
  • Before signing the declaration on your application form please read it thoroughly to check for errors. You must read and sign the declaration as any false information will disqualify you from appointment.

We are not able to consider late applications, so make sure you are aware of the closing date which can be found on your covering letter.
