A beautiful artwork has been unveiled at our Ty Gobaith Children's Hospice, created by the brothers and sisters of children who use our services.
The project was overseen by Ty Gobaith's Sibling Support Worker Ceinwen Pritchard, whose role is to offer help and support to the brothers and sisters of children suffering from life threatening conditions or who have died.
Designed by the young people themselves, the huge glass mosaic features waves inspired by the nearby river and sea. It has been mounted on the side of the hospice's Enfys counselling building where it will be seen by everyone visiting.
Says Ceinwen: "We worked with glass artist Rhian Price to sketch out the design on paper and work out the mosaic with thousands of little glass tiles.
"The children worked on it for a year, at weekends and during holidays. They got a great sense of achievement from seeing the final project come to life.
"They also made friendships along the way and they really rose to the challenge of creating a real landmark piece of art for the hospice that will be appreciated by children, families and visitors for many years to come."
The project was made possible by Children in Need whose generous donation has funded Ceinwen's role for a three year period.
