Sometimes it can be really hard for families to accept that a children’s hospice can help. Some parents tell us that in the early days they felt they could cope alone.

Callum’s mum Carrie told us that she couldn’t stop thinking that a hospice was ‘only a place for the end’ – then she met Nia, one of our wonderful team of community nurses.

Nia explained that Tŷ Gobaith and Hope House offer so many different services to help children with life-threatening conditions, and their families, live their very best life.

“That meeting with Nia changed everything,” Carrie said. “Nia put me at ease and told me what Tŷ Gobaith was all about. We went through all the care Callum needed and she understood everything.”
