There's a pressing engagement you won't want to miss on Sunday 15th October.

A fundraising Apple Day is being hosted by our supporter Tir y Coed country house in Rowen, Conwy.

It's a chance for children to try apple bobbing and other traditional games and for the whole family to learn about apple pressing and even bring their own crop to be juiced by an expert.

Sandra Baddeley of Tir y Coed

Proprietor of Tir y Coed, Sandra Baddeley said: “We’re looking forward to his event for our local community and invite everybody to pop in and make good use of their apples.

“We’d encourage people to bake an apple cake or dish to bring that we can portion up and sell for charity.

“There’ll be games outside for the kids, although you might want to bring a towel as they may get a bit wet!”

Bring your own fruit to juice

A highlight of the afternoon will be Judith Kauffman from Afallon in Bethesda who will be on site to turn your apples into fresh juice with her traditional press. Just bring your own apples and some screw top bottles, Judith will do the rest and you can buy them back for a 50p donation per bottle.

There is no entry fee but donations and profits will go to our hospices.

The event runs 12-4pm and you can find Tir y Coed at LL32 8TP.
