Alicia Shepherd ran her first ever marathon ahead of her 50th birthday this week.

Huge congratulations to the 50,000 people who committed the time, effort and pain to train for and run in yesterday's London Marathon.

We were especially proud of our amazing Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith supporters who have already raised more than £4,500 between them, with donations still coming in.

Thanks to Alicia Shepherd from Llansilin for running her first ever marathon, and raising a phenomenal £2,596, ahead of a big birthday celebration later this week.

After finishing the 26.2-mile route, she said: "I loved every minute of it!". So much so that she has already entered the ballot for next year's event!

Other super supporters included Catherine Glover, who is originally from North Wales and now lives in Glastonbury. She has raised nearly £2,000 which will support children with life-threatening conditions and their families.

Thanks also to Peter Lester-Owen who completed his second marathon in a week after finishing Manchester Marathon last weekend and London yesterday.

You can help make their blisters and sore bits more bearable by donating to them:
