Strong Minds FC run raises £11,500 Our incredible supporters Strong Minds FC have raised a whopping £11,500 with their first fundraiser. The community football team ran from Cardiff Castle to Conwy Castle overnight on Friday June 26th and arrived onto the quay in Conwy by lunchtime on the 27th to a rapturous welcome from friends, family and hospice staff. Pure grit Setting off from Cardiff Craig Wilkinson, of the team shared: “We covered 251km in a relay of roughly 5km at a time with support from our back-up crew. “Countless blisters, pure grit. “Running in to see that incredible crowd and our families waiting for us made every single painful step worth it. “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who donated, cheered us on from the roadside, and followed our journey online. “Your support kept our legs moving when everything else wanted to quit. “This is just the beginning. We are already looking ahead to 2027.” Planning Members of Strong Minds FC approach the finish at Conwy Castle Backing the intrepid runners was hospice fundraiser, Nikki Sullivan: “The guys from Strong Minds FC showed true heart with this run. “The planning, training and physical effort all to help local children and families facing the unknown is admirable. “It was amazing to join them in Conwy and help to raise awareness of Hope House Tŷ Gobaith’s mission to reach every local child living with a life-threatening condition. “Thank you so much to you all.” Join the team Strong Minds are a men’s charity football team that uses the power of football to support mental health.
