One step closer for Super Half couple A sporty Oswestry couple are taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon as part of a challenge which sees them taking on runs across Europe. Jodie Herbert and boyfriend Josh Biggs are running the sold-out Cardiff Half Marathon on October 6th for us, as part of the Super Halfs. The intrepid pair are taking on the challenge of running six of Europe’s best-known half marathons, covering Prague, Cardiff, Lisbon, Berlin, Copenhagen and Valencia. They completed Prague earlier in the year and are looking forward to joining our charity team to complete the Cardiff Half in October. They are aiming to raise £500 for the charity. Places for the Cardiff Half are sold out. However, we have a number of charity places for Wales's biggest road race still available. Sign up for Cardiff Half Marathon Jodie and Josh are excited to be able to get a step closer to their Super Half target. Jodie explains: “We first heard of the Super Halfs when we took part in Prague Half Marathon. We saw a runner with a massive medal and she told us it was for the Super Halfs. We knew we had to have one! “Cardiff Half was sold out, so when I heard that Hope House had charity places available, I signed us up straightaway. “Prague was hard as it was in 28 degree heat. I’m hoping that Cardiff will be much cooler! I’ve also heard it’s quite a flat run which I like. “Doing the Super Halfs is a lovely way to see new places and a great excuse to go on holiday. I don’t know Cardiff well so I’m looking forward to exploring the Welsh capital after the run.” Josh says: “I’ve always enjoyed running, since I was at school. I managed to persuade Jodie to join me during lockdown. She started on the couch to 5k, then progressed to a half marathon. It’s great that she now enjoys running as much as I do.” Jodie, who is 25, has worked as a Senior HR Assistant at Hope House for four months, and says this is the first event she’s run for the charity since she was a child. “I took part in one of the Hope House Santa Runs 15 years ago with a broken arm in a sling and a santa suit! “Now I’m working for the charity, I see first hand how important the services provided by Hope House and Ty Gobaith hospices are to local children and their families. We're really pleased to be doing our bit to help.” Sponsor Jodie and Josh Manage Cookie Preferences
