Our children and supporters enjoyed a vrooming marvellous day out this week and revved-up some fantastic funds for our hospices.

The ever-popular Ultimate Track Day event hosted at the Anglesey Circuit (Trac Môn) returned after a three-year lay-off and saw prestige car manufacturers bring their sports and classic cars to the Ty Croes site to deliver some high-speed thrill rides.

After a welcome breakfast the day began with everyone being given a safety briefing before being suited up and secured into the car of their choice alongside an experienced driver for a lap of the panoramic 1.7km track and a viewing of the assembled prestige vehicles.

After a pit-stop for lunch there was a charity auction with lots such as tickets to see Manchester United, a luxury hotel stay and a Fortnum & Mason wine hamper all proving popular.

The chequered flag was waved later in the afternoon following some additional laps and photo opportunities in the garages and pit lane.

Joy on their faces

Our chief executive, Andy Goldsmith was in attendance and got hands-on helping to fit the all-important safety helmets on passengers before they stepped inside their selected vehicle.

Andy said: “It is wonderful to be back on Anglesey at the track day event and witness the thrill it brings supporters and to be able to thank them in person for their generous support.

“We are extremely grateful to all the kind teams, drivers and sponsors who make this event possible.

“It has certainly been a memorable day and we thank the organising team for such a great event, raising money for the hospices and giving the children and families who attend our hospices the opportunity to experience these amazing cars."
