A lifelong Wrexham fan is raffling off tickets for one of the club’s biggest games of the season to raise money for our hospices.

Neil Williams from Whitchurch, Shropshire, has been a passionate Wrexham supporter since the age of seven and commentates on matches for the club’s official media channels.

He has now donated two tickets for the Hollywood-owned team’s home game against rivals Notts County, which will take place on Saturday 17th February.

Last season’s fixture between the two sides attracted huge attention after a last-minute penalty save by goalkeeper Ben Foster secured a dramatic win to push Wrexham ahead in the race for the National League title.

With both teams again chasing promotion from League Two, tickets for this season’s match at the Racecourse sold out in a matter of hours.

Neil, who runs photography business Whitchurch Photography, said he was inspired to donate the tickets to Hope House after his partner Chris previously took part in fundraisers for the charity.

A worthy cause

He said: “Chris has danced in the last few Strictly Shropshire events to raise money for Hope House.

“It’s such a worthy cause which supports seriously ill children and their families and the club has very generously offered two tickets for the Notts County game in February.

“You can buy tickets for the raffle online and I’d encourage people to buy as many as they can to support Hope House.”

Our fundraiser Cat Dowdeswell said: “Neil’s passion for Wrexham AFC is clear for all to see and we’re extremely grateful to him and the club for donating tickets for what promises to be a memorable game.

“All of the money raised from this raffle will help to ensure local children and families can get the support they need.”

Tickets for the raffle can be bought for £5.
