Ronnie with mum Alice

The mum and dad of baby Ronnie are holding a charity Zumbini in his memory to raise money to support us.

Ronnie was born with complex needs and received care at the hospices until he died aged 15 months in November last year.

His parent Alice and Lewis, from Newtown, are now raising money to support the hospices they say were a vital part of Ronnie’s life.

“Hope House has been with us since the day our son, Ronnie was born. Our beautiful Ronnie was born with many complex needs, and we sadly lost him in November,” said Alice.

“The people at Hope House have been our rock and held our hand the whole way. As a thank you, we would love to raise as much money for them, and have some fun at the same time to remember our beautiful boy.”

Family-friendly event

The family-friendly Zumbini event will be held at 23 Social in Newtown on Saturday 21st May and is being hosted by Zumba enthusiast and instructor, Katy Liscombe. Doors open at 9am, and the dancing will begin at 10am.

Entry is £5 and can be purchased from 23 Social in advance, or at the door. There will also be a kid's colouring competition and a raffle with amazing prizes to enter. The venue is also offering a generous 10% off food and drink after the event.

Fundraiser Bekki Fardoe said: We are hugely grateful to Alice and Lewis for their support after what has been a hard and heart-breaking time for them.

“However, it is comforting to know that Hope House Children’s Hospices were able to be there for Ronnie and continues to be there for his family.

“I am looking forward to seeing everyone dancing the morning away and having a fantastic time, whilst raising vital funds for our local children and families."
